The NSPA is committed to having all of it’s members accurately rated. We are making every effort to offer as many evaluation sessions as we can with the resources we have available.

WHY DO I NEED A RATING?

A few of our programming and activities require a specific rating. These would be programs that are in need of having like-skilled players in a more competitive environment.

Some of our programs such as: leagues, tournaments, skills development sessions; depend on having groups of players that are of like-skill and abilities. These programs are designed to challenge people of all levels and that is best served by having them grouped by similar rating.

HOW DOES THE NSPA RATING SYSTEM WORK?

The NSPA rating uses color designation. There are six rating colors that members can receive: YELLOW, ORANGE, GREEN, BLUE, RED, BLACK. These are the specific ratings that all players will receive and must have to participate in programming. All members are issued a yellow rating as soon as they become members the first time. Ratings carry over as members renew their memberships.

The colors are assigned directly to a specific board member as they can communicate with about skill specific programming and events.  The directors, who are also board members, are the individuals advocating for their assigned groups.
